Matthew 27:25 - 66 (King James Version)

Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

Then released he (Pilate released) Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross. And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull, They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.

If anyone tells you they have not sinned, they are lying to you. Every person, including myself, has sinned.

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

To fall short means that you do not reach the finish line. Sin causes that to happen. When we sin, we miss God. We never reach him. We do not reach him because sin places a large gulf between us and God.

There is only one way to pass over that gulf of sin. That way is the bridge to God. The bridge is the Lord Jesus Christ. He becomes our bridge over the gulf of sin and allows us to pass over and reach God.

If you feel that you have reached a dead end, reach out for Jesus. Let Jesus bridge the gap for you and you can be saved. Ask Jesus to heal you and to cleanse you from your sins. Believe, confess, be cleansed, be healed, be saved - grab Jesus.

Until next time,

Malachi 4:1-3 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

God tells us clearly what will happen to those who have rejected him. They will be as stubble and they will be burned up. Stubble is the short, stiff stalks of grain or hay remaining on a field after harvesting. Since the wicked will remain as stubble, that means a harvest will have to come first. So, what is the harvest?

The harvest is the gathering of the Christian (or saved) people before that day happens. The Sun of righteousness (Jesus) will come and heal us of any and all infirmities we may have. He will gather us up and keep us safe. He will harvest us and take us away from the burning and heat that is coming. And after it is over, the wicked will be ashes.

If you have never accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior - as payment for all of your sins - do not delay. Accept him today. Confess your sins. Tell God you accept His Son Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Ask Jesus to cleanse you and to save you. He is waiting for you to ask. Ask sincerely - be honest with God because he knows your heart.

Do not be caught without Jesus' protection on that day spoken about in Malachi 4. Be ready. No person knows the day or time. We are to be ready at all times, every day. Do it now - right this minute.

Until next time,

John 10:27-29
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

These verses should be a great comfort for God's people. If we belong to God, then we are his children (or sheep, as he says here). We can hear his voice whenever we belong to him. No only do we hear his voice, but he knows us and we follow him.

He goes on to tell us that he gives us eternal life when we belong to him. Life everlasting - never ending - continuing forever! How wonderful that promise is. And he gives us even more promises in these verses.

He promises that we will never perish. We will not be destroyed! That is great news, especially in today's world. You know, earthly things may be able to destroy our bodies, but they cannot destroy our souls. We are promised eternal life and to be indestructible. But, he does not stop there either.

Jesus says that his Father (who is also our Father) gave us to him. We belong not only to God, but also to our big brother - Jesus! And - no man can take us away from them (pluck them out of my Father's hand). We are sitting constantly in God's hand - he is taking care us - protecting us!

How peaceful to know that God has wrapped his loving hand around us and nothing can destroy us. I can sleep very peaceful tonight with those thoughts.

Until next time,

by Linda Sedrick Pearson

Reincarnation is a myth. It is a lie of Satan. If we do not get it (our lives) right this time around, there will not be a second time.

Hebrews 9:27-28 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

When a person dies there is no coming back to try it over again. The Bible says, "Once to die." One time only - you live your life - then you die. Then, you face the judgment. What judgement? God's judgement.

That is why Jesus Christ gave his life for us. He knew we only had one chance to get it right and that we could not get it right on our own. Salvation and the saving grace from God's judgment is Jesus Christ.

Accept Him or Reject Him! It is your choice.

by Linda Sedrick Pearson

Rev 22:16-19

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

God tells us that it is our job to put the word out there for people and to do our best to testify for him. It is up to the people to accept or reject the word and Jesus Christ. We cannot force them to accept him and should never try to do that. The word is powerful. Put the word out there. God's word will never come back void (meaning your teachings and testimonies are never in vain). At the very least

Revelations 22:12-13

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

Jesus is everything. He is the beginning and he is the end. He is all things. We are to be ready for when he comes back to receive us into His Kingdom. Each person will receive his or her own reward and Jesus is bringing his reward with him. For me, it is enough that I receive Jesus and make it to that meeting! He is my reward. What about you?

Prayer: God, lead and guide us through this day. Protect us from evil that will try to make us trip and fall. Bless the works of our hands as we go about the daily business we have today. Thank you for all the blessings you give us and for providing us everyday. I praise your Holy Name! - Amen
