Abusers Beware!
Matthew 18:3-7 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
It is a great offense to hurt a child. God says that if any person harms a little child, it would be better for that person if he or she were drowned in the deepest ocean!
It amazes me these days how many times the abuser of a child is held up as a hero and many, including judges, prosecuting attorneys, and others go out of their way to make sure the rights of the abuser are protected! How dare they!
What about the rights of the child that were taken away from the child by the abuser(s)? When abuse happens, many rights are taken away from the abused person. Rights such as freedom to pursue happiness, the right to live unafraid of harm, and many other rights are violated and taken away from the abused child. The child has to live in fear because they are told that no one will believe them that the abuse happened – and most of the time that is true.
We must be alert and be on guard against abusers. Every child should be able to live a happy childhood, unharmed by the world and especially those of their own families. Children have a right to explore and learn and should never have to be locked in closets, hide under beds, and above all never be abused or hurt by anyone.
For the abusers, whether or not they are brought to justice here on earth – they will definitely suffer the consequences of God’s wrath when they stand before the LORD on their judgment day. And I must say, I don’t have any sympathy for them.
