2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Fear is a weapon that Satan uses against us to keep us down. If he can convince us that there is something to be afraid of, then the devil wins. This is the enemy's main tactic against us as Christians. Fear has no power unless we give in to it.

We can win the battle and defeat the devil by facing our fears. Stand up to any fear that is coming against you. No matter how hard it is, stand up and face it. You will find that, in most cases, facing whatever it is you are afraid of has no power when you stand up against it.

Hebrews 13:5-6 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Believe in God, he is your helper. As long as God is on your side, you do not have to be afraid of anything that man will do to you. Stand strong. Raise the standard of God as your battle flag and face your fears. You will be the victor!

Matthew 18:3-7 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!

It is a great offense to hurt a child. God says that if any person harms a little child, it would be better for that person if he or she were drowned in the deepest ocean!

It amazes me these days how many times the abuser of a child is held up as a hero and many, including judges, prosecuting attorneys, and others go out of their way to make sure the rights of the abuser are protected! How dare they!

What about the rights of the child that were taken away from the child by the abuser(s)? When abuse happens, many rights are taken away from the abused person. Rights such as freedom to pursue happiness, the right to live unafraid of harm, and many other rights are violated and taken away from the abused child. The child has to live in fear because they are told that no one will believe them that the abuse happened - and most of the time that is true.

We must be alert and be on guard against abusers. Every child should be able to live a happy childhood, unharmed by the world and especially those of their own families. Children have a right to explore and learn and should never have to be locked in closets, hide under beds, and above all never be abused or hurt by anyone.

For the abusers, whether or not they are brought to justice here on earth - they will definitely suffer the consequences of God's wrath when they stand before the LORD on their judgment day. And I must say, I don't have any sympathy for them.

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art.

When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.

About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands.

He said, "Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly. He often talked about you, and your love for art.' The young man held out this package. 'I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this."

No matter what comes against me, I will still rejoice and joy in God. Even if the fig trees do not bloom or all fruit fails to give a harvest, I will still trust my Lord and my God. There may not be any physical food to eat or other earthly things my body needs to survive, but I will continue to trust my God and my Lord. I will continue to rejoice in Him and praise Him. I will sing his praises and laughter will fill my lungs. Why? Because God can supply my every need - even when things look like there is nothing available!

God promises me that He will take care of me in all ways I need. Take a look at Matthew 6:25-30 and Luke 12:22-32. In those verses you will find God's promises to take care of us. All we have to do is trust Him to do what He promises.

by Linda Sedrick Pearson

Isaiah 58:5-8 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD? Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh? Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.

God did not choose for us to fast by afflicting our own souls. That was not what God intended us to do.

The type of fast God chose was for us to help others that are in need. We are to be there to help when people are down. We are to preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ ("to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and ... break every yoke"). When people hear about and accept Jesus Christ, it does loose the bands of wickedness, undoes heavy burdens, lets the oppressed go free and breaks every yoke. Jesus Christ is freedom and comfort.

Another part of the fast God chose for us was for us to feed the hungry and provide shelter to those who have none. We are to clothe those who do not have clothing. Don't withdraw from your own family ("hide not thyself from thine own flesh"). We are to help people in need. We are not to burden them more by asking them why they are in that condition. We are supposed to help them.

Reach out to others. Don't worry if they are dirty. Maybe they don't have anywhere to take a bath. Provide them a place to take a bath and clean clothes. Give them toothbrushes and toothpaste. Provide them with shelter and safety.

We are to save back some of our income so that we are able to help others. Even if it is only $1.00 a week. Put it back and save it so that you have something to give when you see someone in need. Take them and buy them a new set of clothes or a good meal.

Did you know that when you do these things you will be healthier? God says so in these verses. And, the glory of the LORD will be your rereward. That means he will be your protection. Rereward means a rear guard. He will guard you and keep you safe. Don't be afraid to take care of others needs. God will take care of yours.

Author Unknown

This is one of the nicest e-mails I have seen and is so true:

I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We
walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels.

My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, 'This Is
the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to GOD said in prayer are
Received..'

I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many
angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets and
scraps from people all over the world..

Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second
section.

The angel then said to me, 'This is the Packaging and Delivery Section.
Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and
delivered to the living persons who asked for them.'

I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working
hard at that station, since so many blessings had been requested and were
being packaged for delivery to Earth

Finally at the farthest end of the long corridor we stopped at the Door
of a very small station To my great surprise, only one angel was Seated
there, idly doing nothing. 'This is the acknowledgment Section,' My angel
friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed 'How Is it that
there is no work going on here?' I asked.

'So sad,' the angel sighed. 'After people receive the blessings that they
asked For, very few send back acknowledgments .'

'How does one acknowledge GOD's blessings?' I asked.

'Simple,' the angel answered. Just say, 'Thank you, LORD.'

'What blessings should they acknowledge?' I asked.

'If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof
overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of this world. If
you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish,
you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy .'

'And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the
world who has that opportunity.'

Also ......

' If you woke up this morning with more health than illness ... You are
more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day'

'If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of
imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation .. You are
ahead of 700 million people in the world.'

'If your parents are still alive and still married ...you are very rare.'

'If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you're
unique to all those in doubt and despair.'

Ok, what now? How can I start?

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that
someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than
over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all.

Have a good day, count your blessings, and if you want, pass this along
to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.

A TTN:

Acknowledge Dept.: 'Thank you Lord, for giving me the ability to share
this message and for giving me so many wonderful people to share it with.
